A Fair Kingdom
Once there was a kingdom full of magic. There were unicorns, Alicorns, and dragons... but the people in the kingdom had problems with the dragons because dragons breathe fire and they are dangerous to humans. So, the King and Queen of the kingdom announced that dragons can not be trusted. Now, the dragons have stopped coming to the kingdom, but one Black Dragon was brave enough to come and so it came, and killed the King. The Queen was heartbroken and so the dragons were banished. Although the Queen had a son named Eric, and he was actually known as Prince Eric.
A few years later Prince Eric found out that his father got killed by a dragon. Eric wanted revenge to kill all dragons on the earth. Eric wrote for a long time and so he began to write the numbered days of searching for the dragons. “What are you doing Eric?” said Eric’s friend Arren as he sat down on a rock by Eric. “I’ve been counting how many days of searching for the dragons.” said Eric as he wrote. “Eric, you’ve got to give it up, and you’re never going to kill a dragon to get your revenge.”
“I will kill all Dragons,”
“No you won’t!”
“Oh yes I will!”
So, after a lot of arguing with his friend, Eric decided to secretly go out on his own at night to find the dragon nest. (Or at least one dragon that is an orphan.)
Later that night...
“Eric! What are you doing up?” Arren asked.
“I’m just getting up to get some water—” Eric said as he got some water and then choked. “Eric I know what you’re doing—”
“Stop it Arren... I know you’re going to say!”
“No! You can’t kill dragons!”
“I WILL NEVER FORGIVE DRAGONS! OKAY?”
And so, Eric ran for miles... and miles. Three days of walking and running no resting — and Eric became very weak, tired, and hungry, he collapsed to the ground. 12 minutes later, a Wizard came and helped him up and out of the road. So the Wizard brought Eric to his tower and put Eric in a soft cozy bed to keep him warm. One day later Eric woke up and noticed himself in a strange place. What is this place? Eric thought, but for a moment Eric thought that he himself was in danger. But he wasn’t, he was safe. Just then a flash of light appeared, he was scared. It just turned out to be the Wizard that had taken him to the tower. “Who are you?” Eric said suspiciously, “I’m Benithen; I was the one that saved you—” The Wizard got cut off of his sentence and Eric wasn’t patient enough to wait. “Saved me? Why? I didn’t need help!”
“You were walking in a dragon’s territory! That’s why I saved you!”
“Well, I wanted to kill all dragons on the earth. So there you have it! NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP ME FROM KILLING DRAGONS!!”
“Boy, you’re not a Wizard only Wizards and Witches can kill dragons.”
“My name is Eric! Not boy!” Eric continued his sentence once more....
The Black Dragon
Eric paused for a moment and then said, “Fine... I can’t kill dragons yet.” The Wizard finally had time to speak. So Eric let him speak. “What made you want to kill dragons?” Benithen said as he sat down in his chair next to his Phoenix bird. “Well, my father; the king, got killed by a Black Dragon. And I never forgave that dragon or any other dragon.” Eric didn’t really want to talk about dragons or his father’s death. “Eric... I know it’s hard to lose someone you love. But remember... that person will always be in your heart. Everything is connected to the circle of life— even dragons. Dragons are living creatures. Don’t kill just to get your revenge. Which would you choose if a dragon or anything didn’t mean to kill?” Benithen said. “Which would you choose life or death?” Eric looked up at Benithen and then he said, “Death— that dragon killed my father! I won’t forgive any dragon at all! I-I.... d-don’t care about dragons!!” Eric sobbed. “Where are you going Eric?” Benithen asked. “I-I’m going back to my kingdom.” Eric said while he walked to the door. “Eric it isn’t safe to go outside at this time of day. Dangerous creatures are out.” Benithen said. “I can take care of myself. I will go out on my own.” Eric said. When Eric went outside, he looked at the evening clouds. Then he heard something roar. That sounds like a dragon. Eric thought. Just then a flash of darkness flew by him. Indeed it was a dragon. It was The Black Dragon... the most poisonous of all dragons. With one scratch it could kill in 15 seconds. Eric was in its territory, and Eric had thought about what Benithen said. Everything is connected to the circle of life, even dragons. Dragons are living creatures. Don’t kill just to get your revenge...
Benithen’s thoughts ran though Eric’s mind. Which would you choose? “I choose death! And I’m not changing my mind.” Eric told himself. The dragon landed in front of him. Eric paused for a moment before getting out his sword. Should I really kill every single dragon on the earth? It is against the law in my kingdom— I can’t make up my mind. I have to kill all dragons.... all of them. I want to forgive dragons but I can’t. I just want to go home. Eric thought. The dragon came closer and closer. It dug at the ground and it was about to charge at Eric. The dragon raised its paw, it was ready to strike. It stretched its claws out and got ready to kill. Luckily Eric fell to his back and rolled out of the way. The dragon had missed its shot and Eric’s sword dropped out of his hand. Eric reached out for it. Just in time, he saved himself. He had stabbed the dragon in the chest. The dragon let out a huge roar and fell back on its side. Eric was filled with guilt— but he was glad to be alive. He realized he wasn’t alone. Something was coming towards him. It was beginning to get dark. Eric heard four sticks break in the distance. Eric wondered whether to go back to the Benithen's tower or to go to his kingdom. He was very scared at night because he knew that every night brought dangerous creatures from every cave, hole, tree, ocean, and sky. Eric wanted to see who or what was there with him. “Hello? Is anyone there?” Eric asked, but there was no reply. There was only silence. When Eric backed away, there were growls coming from all directions. The growling was coming from evil creatures known as, Black Winged Wolves. They all had red eyes. Their red eyes were gleaming though the fog. Eric knew he wasn’t safe. “Someone help me! Benithen! Help me, where are you Benithen? Eric said. Eric’s sword had broken when he killed the dragon. So, there was nothing he could do. He was cornered by Black Winged wolves. All of a sudden, A Flash of light came again. It was Benithen! “You came, thank you, and I’m sorry. I should’ve listened to you. Will you ever forgive me?” Eric said sadly. “Of course I will forgive you, Eric.” Benithen said gladly to Eric. “Now let’s take down these wolves.” Benithen said. “Death will come to you. You evil creatures! Be gone!!” Benithen shouted.
